Key Points
The Parish Hall will seat up to 250, depending on configuration. We can set the space for theatre style, classroom style or any configuration to suit your needs. See Baxter Hall standard set-up or dinner with dance floor.
Receptions, dinners, meetings, lectures, dances, fundraisers, retirement parties, card tournaments, knitting guilds, quilting bees, board game nights, craft shows. The types of activities not permitted are stag & doe type events, gambling, and any other events contrary to the teachings of the church.
You are open for possible suit from Third Parties because of your operations, or actions. You may not be liable but you will need to be defended in court. A liability policy pays for this defence as well as any costs found against you. Legal fees can be very expensive and this can be an affordable way to have them covered. This policy covers your legal liability for bodily injury to or damage to property of others such as spectators, passers-by, property owners and others resulting from your activity.
The Monsignor Baxter Hall does not have in-house catering, but we have a list of caterers familiar with our space.
Alcohol is permitted with a Special Occasion Permit from the LCBO or a licensed caterer. The minimum requirement is one Smart Serve trained individual per 100 people. Special Liability insurance is required if alcohol is served. Please inquire in advance.
All events require some amount of set-up and clean-up. We have factored this into the rate structure, hence the minimum 3 hour rental.
We are not currently able to rent these items for hall use. Caterers will often provide these items, sometimes for a fee, or you may rent your own from a party supply company.
Events in the Monsignor Baxter Hall must end by 1 a.m. That’s late, everyone wants to get home to bed!
